Theresa Paden was born in Southern California. She attended Fullerton College and Cal State Fullerton. In 1980 she was accepted at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA and started classes full time, majoring in Illustration. Theresa graduated in 1983 but decided not to go into illustration after all. She was hired at the NFL as an associate art director. Theresa designed Super Bowl logos, SB tickets and posters along with team logos, ads, and magazine inserts. After working there for a few years, she met her husband. When their first daughter was born, they moved to Ventura County and Theresa left the NFL to be a stay-at-home-mom. Her and her husband had two more kids and their youngest is now 18. She continued to paint while raising their kids, and about 2 years ago she started painting full-time. Since she had fallen in love with horses, she started painting them, and that's what she enjoys painting the most. Theresa does paint a variety of subjects, mostly horses, but other works are of animals you find in the west. She has done cattle, longhorn cattle, sheep, goats, coyotes, other western wildlife, flowers and Native Americans.
I decided to recreate her painting "Loyal One" (original shown below)
